If
you thought safes only come in a horrid grey, then you need to think
again. Stockinger combines top-notch German engineering with decadent
finishes to create the ultimate luxury safes.
When people speak of luxury, they usually mean things such as fine
jewellery and haute horology. Few think of the luxury of protecting and
caring for their favourite things. But if you’re going to spend top
dollar for the things you love, shouldn’t you invest in something that
will keep them secure?
Stockinger
redefines the idea of what safes should be like — you won’t find
god-awful steel safes that you keep hidden behind your Monet. Each one
is carefully primed, painted and sanded up to 18 times. Carnauba wax is
then applied to give the surface more depth and sleekness. This process
takes a few weeks to complete, but the result is an ultra-high polish
that gives a certain level of sophistication to the coffer.
Dominik von Ribbentrop, CEO of Stockinger, explains that this concept of
combining luxury with security technologies has been in the company’s
DNA since its inception. He says: “The company was founded in 1978 by
Hans Stockinger with the vision to not just engineer the most secure
safes but also build them to be easily integrated into any elegant
living environment. He felt there was too many of the usual grey safes
around but a luxurious high-end solution for demanding private
collectors was missing."
